DEAL SNIPERS / REAL CLIENT DEALS
Bob’s Honda Pilot.
Delivered to his driveway.
A new SUV, a written price breakdown, and a dealership willing to deliver. Here’s how Bob’s remote purchase came together.
The brief: a new Honda Pilot that fit Bob’s needs.
Bob wanted a new 2025 or 2026 Honda Pilot EX-L AWD, with specific exterior and interior color preferences. He had a $45,000 budget target and was willing to consider vehicles beyond his immediate area.
We researched six new 2025 Pilot EX-L AWD candidates, requested quotes, and compared the available offers. Some listings sold during the search, so keeping alternatives in play mattered.
The updated quote: $45,198.80 out the door.
The updated worksheet showed a $3,000 dealer discount and a $1,500 rebate against a $47,095 starting selling price. Together, those reduced the vehicle price to $42,595 before the listed taxes and fees.
| Item | Amount |
|---|---|
| Starting selling price | $47,095.00 |
| Dealer discount | −$3,000.00 |
| Rebate | −$1,500.00 |
| Adjusted vehicle price | $42,595.00 |
| Document fee | $275.00 |
| Tax | $1,763.80 |
| Non-tax fees | $565.00 |
| Quoted out-the-door total | $45,198.80 |
The January 5 worksheet treated tax, title, and license amounts as estimates. The quoted total is before any down payment. The updated worksheet covered a different vehicle from the seller’s original listing, so the figures are not presented as a same-vehicle reduction from that earlier quote. The $4,500 includes a rebate, not just a negotiated dealer discount.
A motivated seller made the remote purchase possible.
Other dealerships considered during the search would not make the delivery. The seller Bob ultimately worked with was willing to bring the Pilot to his home. We helped coordinate the remote buying steps and delivery arrangements.
The process moved forward through messages, remote paperwork, and an online application. The salesperson drove the vehicle to Bob’s home, where the handoff took place. Bob never stepped foot in the dealership.
WHAT MADE THE DIFFERENCE
The seller’s flexibility was part of the deal.
The search found both a suitable vehicle and a dealership willing to make the purchase work around Bob. That is why we ask about delivery and paperwork early when a customer wants to buy from home.
Not every seller offers this. Delivery costs, availability, and signing requirements need to be confirmed for each purchase. See the steps for remote car buying.
Based on the supplied Bob’s Deal case study and its updated dealer worksheet. Customer surname, location, personal financial details, and dealership identifiers are omitted.
